barrier-free sanitary facilities

currently in progress

After the residential building already has barrier-free sanitary facilities, the school is now also being equipped with its own toilet facilities that meet the special requirements.

The concept envisages two separate toilet houses, so that separate sanitary blocks are available for the boys and for the girls. Each of these toilet buildings has 4 toilet cabins and an anteroom with washing facilities. The sanitary buildings are spacious and barrier-free, so that children who need a wheelchair or other walking aids can use the sanitary facilities without any problems. We decided to equip the entire toilet facility with tiles, which means that a higher standard of hygiene can be achieved.

A large rainwater cistern, which is fed via the rainwater from the school roofs, provides the necessary water for flushing the toilet and washing hands. Its capacity of 50,000 l is tailored to both the water requirement and the available rainfall. The water is pumped from the large cistern into a higher-level supply tank with a capacity of 1,000 l using a small pump. This tank is then connected to the toilet cisterns and wash basins of the toilet houses. The wastewater from the school toilets is fed into the wastewater treatment plant, which we build below the house, where it is cleaned and treated in several steps.
