The solar power supply

currently in progress

With the planned solar power supply, we would like to cover the basic electricity requirements of the house, as well as enable its nighttime outdoor lighting. The energy for the planned power supply of the house is provided by a solar system with 12 solar panels, each with a power of 200 watts. The electricity generated is then temporarily stored in four batteries with an energy storage capacity of 2.4 kWh each.

At the heart of the system are three inverters with integrated charge controllers. These control the charging and discharging processes of the batteries and convert the direct current from the batteries into three-phase alternating current. The main power line of the house can then be connected to the inverters. We already carried out and completed all the necessary electrical work in the house in cooperation with a Tanzanian electrician when the house was completed. So the house only has to be connected. As with the previous sub-projects, we would like to involve a local electrician when installing the solar power system, so that in the event of future maintenance interventions, a specialist is available who is familiar with the installed system.

The system is designed in such a way that it can still provide sufficient electricity even after several years, despite the natural reduction in battery storage capacity. The number of solar panels that supply the system with power can also be expanded, so that the system can provide sufficient energy in the future even when the power requirement is high. In addition, the system is designed in such a way that the public power grid can also be integrated as a supplementary energy source in the future if the region is developed using state power lines.
